Asif, in an interview with Sky News, said that Pakistan did this on behalf of the United States and Western countries, including the United Kingdom.
He said: “We have been doing this dirty work for the United States for about three decades and West including Britain. That was a mistake and we suffered for that and that is why you are saying this to me.”
These remarks come as the central commission for security and clearance of the Islamic Emirate previously reported the transfer of newly recruited terrorists into Pakistani territory.
According to the commission, these individuals were transported through Karachi and Islamabad airports to various parts of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to carry out attacks in the region, especially in Afghanistan.
Experts also shared their perspectives on the matter.
“Pakistan is still not afraid of these matters because it enjoys direct support from Western countries and claims that it carried out these operations for them. Therefore, these are meaningless claims from Pakistan,” said Aziz Maarej, a former diplomat.
“Pakistan should have learned from its failed experiences—and it seems it has. From now on, it must extend a hand of friendship to all its neighbors and not act against them,” said Hadi Quraishi, a military analyst.
In recent years, Pakistan has repeatedly accused Afghanistan of enabling attacks against it. But now, the Pakistani defense minister’s remarks cast doubt on Islamabad’s previous positions.
