Israeli airstrikes have killed over 150 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip within the last 24 hours, according to the territory’s Health Ministry, marking one of the deadliest days in the ongoing conflict.
Eyewitnesses and local reports confirm that relentless aerial bombardments have struck densely populated residential zones, forcing thousands to flee, particularly from northern Gaza, where evacuation orders were issued by Israeli forces.
Among those affected is Um Firas Al-Mansi, a displaced Palestinian woman, who recounted the horrifying moment her shelter was hit:
“I was sleeping with my children when the missile struck. The blast threw them in all directions. I was screaming, searching for them in panic. We gathered again, but not all survived. There was a martyr—his body torn apart. We found parts scattered around the camp.”
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) stated that the latest wave of operations is part of an intensified campaign against Hamas, aimed at increasing pressure for the release of remaining Israeli hostages held in Gaza.
The renewed offensive has left countless families devastated. Imad Naseer, another Gaza resident, described the previous night as “unimaginably brutal,” saying:
“They bombed without mercy. Children, women, elderly—no one was spared. It was a massacre. Homes destroyed, lives shattered. We are being forced to leave because there is nothing left.”
Amid the mounting humanitarian crisis, Egyptian and Qatari mediators have announced the launch of a new round of indirect ceasefire talks between Israel and Hamas. The discussions began yesterday in Doha, Qatar.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has instructed his negotiating team to stay in Doha to continue the indirect dialogue with Hamas.
In a related development, Hamas officials reiterated that any potential agreement must include a full ceasefire and the withdrawal of all Israeli troops from Gaza. The group highlighted its earlier release of an Israeli-American soldier as a gesture of goodwill, ahead of former U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent Middle East visit.
