Afghanistan’s Center for Strategic Studies recently hosted a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kabul, bringing together Afghan and Kazakh officials to discuss ways to boost bilateral relations between the two countries. The forum centered on recent developments in Afghanistan and the growing opportunities for cooperation, particularly in trade, transit, and regional collaboration.
Waliullah Shaheen, Director of the Center for Strategic Studies, praised Kazakhstan for its ongoing commitment to peaceful solutions in the region and highlighted the positive impact of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s economic-focused foreign policy in fostering stronger ties with regional partners.
Dr. Yerkin Tokumov, Director of the Presidential Institute for Strategic Studies of Kazakhstan, shared his optimism about the future of Afghanistan-Kazakhstan relations, calling it the beginning of a promising new chapter. Tokumov also indicated that several high-level delegations from Kazakhstan would visit Afghanistan soon to monitor progress in various sectors.
This meeting follows a significant humanitarian aid delivery from Kazakhstan to Afghanistan, with a cargo containing wheat flour, vegetable oil, rice groats, blankets, and tents, totaling 2,255 kg. The aid was officially handed over in Balkh province, symbolizing the growing cooperation between the two nations.
