A high-level delegation led by Mohammad Sadiq, Pakistan’s Special Representative for Afghanistan Affairs, arrived in Kabul on Wednesday for a one-day visit. The delegation is in the Afghan capital to participate in the seventh meeting of the Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) between Pakistan and Afghanistan, which is scheduled for the same day.
Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, confirmed the arrival of the delegation and stated that these meetings are sometimes held in Kabul and sometimes in Islamabad. He added that discussions between the two countries would focus on various issues, including security, commercial ties, and potentially transit matters.
The Afghan delegation will be led by Abdul Qayyum Zakir, Deputy Minister of Defense. This meeting follows the last JCC session, which took place in January 2024 in Pakistan.
