The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the acting minister of the ministry, Amir Khan Muttaqi, met with US President Donald Trump’s special representative for prisoner issues, Adam Boiler, and former US special representative for Afghanistan, Zalmay Khalilzad, in Kabul.
The meeting discussed the prisoner exchange and positive bilateral relations between the two sides.
The press release added that the provision of consular services to Afghans in the United States was also discussed.
Meanwhile, US Special Representative for Prisoners Affairs, Boiler, called the progress in the prisoner issue between Afghanistan and the United States a good step towards building trust.
