Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Albusaidi met with Amir Khan Muttaqi, the acting foreign minister of the Islamic Emirate, to discuss strengthening bilateral ties and boosting cooperation between the two countries. The meeting covered several key topics, including facilitating Afghanistan’s exports to Oman, the launch of direct flights, and creating necessary facilities to enhance bilateral relations.
Zia Ahmad Takal, head of public relations at Afghanistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, shared that the discussions focused on building stronger political, economic, and social relations between Afghanistan and Oman. Both sides expressed confidence in opening a new chapter in their diplomatic and trade ties. “The two sides held extensive discussions on strengthening political, economic, and social relations and expressed confidence in opening a new chapter of bilateral ties between Afghanistan and Oman,” Takal said.
During the meeting, Amir Khan Muttaqi highlighted significant achievements by the Islamic Emirate, including the end of war, the establishment of balanced relations with regional and global countries, and the enhancement of regional security. He also stressed the importance of creating job opportunities for Afghan citizens in Oman, boosting Afghan exports, and facilitating direct flights between the two nations.
Economic expert Mohammad Karim Azimi pointed out the potential for growth in Afghanistan’s exports, noting that some goods currently reach Arab markets indirectly through other countries. “I am confident that with direct relations, reaching these markets will significantly boost our exports,” Azimi said.
Amir Khan Muttaqi arrived in Oman on Sunday at the invitation of Oman’s Foreign Minister to discuss these vital matters and deepen cooperation between the two countries.
